My wife and I purchased our Garcia Street adobe home in 2017. Built during the mid-1800’s it is considered a “contributing” property in the historic Eastside of Santa Fe. We closed escrow with the understanding that there was a lot of deferred maintenance that would need to be addressed as well some major interior renovations. New to Santa Fe, we needed to find a contractor/designer who could walk us through the process and the resources to get the job done. Fortunately, our real estate agent was experienced with properties such as ours and without hesitation recommended Adam Fried of Luna Design and Build. We liked Adam and his team immediately. Adam was well versed in the permitting process, working with both the city and the Historic Board and expediting the process. Luna Design has essentially restored and in some cases rebuilt our home¬–literally top to bottom¬¬– from roofing stucco, flooring and plumbing and electrical to engineering, and a new historically-accurate portal in the backyard. Currently Luna Design is putting the finishing touches on an interior rebuild of our historic casita. More importantly Luna Design was always accessible and available to our many questions and concerns. Adam has a great eye for design and aesthetics. His attention to detail is superb. All along the way his suggestions have proved invaluable. Adam is also a gifted trouble shooter with sub-contractors and a great communicator. All of this adds up to a process made far less arduous than is common in complex projects such as this. The results have been stunning. We’re proud of our home and grateful that in finding Luna Design and Build, we were able to bring this historic property back to life.
