Born in California and raised in the New York area, owner and founder Adam Fried attended Brown University before moving to New Mexico in 2001. He started learning his trade under master craftsmen while residing in Providence, Rhode Island and later in Vancouver, BC, before settling here in his home town of Santa Fe. While living in the “Engine Room” (an outsized live-work space) in the yet-to-be-developed Santa Fe Railyard, Adam began a small business by the name of Creative Remodeling. That small-town business quickly became well liked, and in 2017 Creative Remodeling became a licensed corporation by the name of Luna Design Build.
Adam is a licensed general contractor in New Mexico, where he operates primarily in Santa Fe and the surrounding area. He has extensive knowledge in a wide range of applicable disciplines relating to everything from an elegant bathroom remodel to a custom house from the ground up. Adam holds his relationships with his clients close to his heart and celebrates the time he gets to spend informing them about the underlying features of both new and historic Santa Fe homes, collaborating with them to ensure that all of their needs are met. He is committed to upholding the original small business standards that he established decades ago and prides himself in developing and maintaining a personal connection to every build.
Adam can be found overseeing the high quality work of current projects, ensuring every one meets the standards of quality and workmanship that Luna upholds.
Sam, originally from England, found his home in New Mexico after living in Rhode Island since 1996. He became a valued member of Luna Design Build in 2012, starting as a craftsman and steadily working his way up to become a proficient project manager.
Throughout his tenure at Luna, Sam has skillfully overseen numerous projects, including extensive work in Santa Fe’s historic districts, encompassing both builds and renovations.
Before joining the Luna team, Sam served as the managing director for Bioshield Paint Company and later American Paint Company for an extended period. In his current role, he ensures the quality and precision of our projects, meticulously aligning them with design, budget, and schedules. Sam is the point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors, expertly navigating the complex world of construction and resolving any issues as they arise.
With a wealth of carpentry experience, Sam is well-versed in every aspect of construction, from framing to finishing. He’s also proficient in various software programs, including the Microsoft Suite and Quickbooks.
Known as the “coolest” member of the Luna Design Build team, Sam brings a unique, enjoyable element to your Luna experience. You can count on Sam not only for a pleasant experience but also for a bit of fun along the way.
